Vintage Lens: Asahi Pentax Super Takumar 50mm 1.4 on Fujifilm GFX 100s

Welcome,

Here is another m42 50mm lens, my version of the 50mm Pentax Super Takumar 50mm 1.4 is the 7 elements one. I haven’t tried the more expensive and somewhat rare version of this lens. Also this lens is a bit radioactive because Thorium was used in the rear element with time my version has develop a yellow tint. It is easy to clear the lens you only need to expose it to UV light and it would become clear. I haven’t done this because I don’t mind the yellow colour and also if I clean the lens and I don’t like it I will have to years for the yellow tint to come back.

The following images where taken on a tripod with a 2 second delay and manually focus using the full sensor size of the Fujifilm GFX100s . The only postproduction done to the images is the Chromatic Aberrations have been clear by Lightroom.

This lens is small, very well made all metal and glass. My copy is very clean I purchased this with a couple of other m42 lenses as a group including a Pentax Spotmatic Camera for $150aud (2021). I recommend looking for an Spotmatic Camera that have this lens attached to them, you will probably save some money over buying the lens by its own.
