City of Sorrows

With the camera as my tool, I aspire to create mood, emotion, curiosity and a different perspective. With this deeply personal body of work, I delved into the dark world of anxiety, depression and loneliness. To visually interpret it. To understand it.

City of Sorrows

With this project I aspire to create mood, emotion, curiosity and a different perspective. With this deeply personal body of work, I delved into the dark world of anxiety, depression and loneliness. To visually interpret it. To understand it. The “film noir” style, layered with multiple techniques, creating artistic narrative experiences to convey the pessimism, fatalism, and menace of this world within my dynamic abstract compositions.

The city landscape sets the scene, like a dark mistress absorbing us into her darkness and isolation. Within her mystery we seek hope and salvation while blurring the lines of reality in search of redemption.

Ultimately, my aim is to evoke a visceral response from my viewers, to create a surreal and thought-provoking world within my images, and to invite them to explore their own inner worlds as well.

“Blue Sorrow”

An interpretation of anxiety and depression and my way of trying to understand my Fathers struggle with this dark and unforgiving state of mind and illness.

“Particles”

In the cities we loose ourselves, our vision becomes blurred in search of salvation, belonging and clarity.

“Solitude”

In our overpopulated cities, one can easily lose themselves in the loneliness. Sometimes, all we can do is simply stand still, alone, overcome by that loneliness as we watch the chaos unfold, unable to control the overwhelmedness. We can easily find ourselves in a state of solitude.

Lonely Ride”

“Down Memory Lane” I went down memory lane not to be saddened for what I have lost but to be grateful for everything that I had.

Square Man”

Don't allow the cities we inhabit to box you in. The square walls we build may seem unmovable and often overwhelming. These are obstacles and barricades we only create, as part of our subconscious, that can be overcome by looking deep within and believing in ourselves to break these walls and get out of the square we once put ourselves in.

“Kill by your Own”

An interpretation of how the Church is damaging itself by abusing their power and continue to hide and deny the truth as they strip away innocence, dignity and purity of children.

“THE HOPE WITHIN DARKNESS”Even on the darkest days there is always hope. The light will always come back just after the darkest moments and it will shine again.
